Today, cabin lighting is an important factor of passenger comfort and a differentiator for airlines. Diehl Aerospace, a joint venture formed by Thales and Diehl of Germany, is the market leader in this sector and a first-tier supplier of cabin lighting for new wide-body aircraft.
Thales has recently acquired with its partner, Diehl Aerospace, the former Airbus Laupheim site, which produces floor to floor modules, overhead bins and crew rest compartments. By intelligently combining existing electronics capabilities with this newly-acquired expertise in cabin equipment, Diehl and Thales will now be able to offer pre-wired cabin modules that come fully equipped with electronics. The integrated end-solutions will form a simplified approach that does not currently exist on the market.
