Thales above-water combat systems and radars meet a wide range of needs for surface and anti-air warfare. These ‘systems solutions’ perform surveillance, command and combat functions and support weapon systems from both US and European manufacturers.

    Combat Management Systems

Tacticos, Thales' renowned Combat Management System, is the most successful CMS in the world. It analyses and integrates data from not only the ship sensors but also from external sources and displays the information on the operator's consoles. Tacticos suggests the action to be taken and initiates the ship's weapon and control systems

  • Surveillance systems

Sensors, the eyes and ears of a naval ship. Modern threats require the most from a ship's sensor suite. Supersonic threats that need to be detected at a long range, just as reliably as a terrorist swimmer coming up for air between the waves. No matter how diverse the threats, there's no hiding from Thales' sensors.

  • Weapon and missile systems

After a threat has been detected by a ship's sensors and after the Combat Management System has processed all data, then the ship's weapon systems come into action. Whether by missile or by gun, each and every threat is eliminated as demonstrated over and over again. Thales' naval weapon and missile systems leave no room for doubt.

  • Communication systems

    com naval

Communicate is one major function for any ships: no naval vessel operates alone, no naval force operates separately from ground and air forces. And, today, governments are consolidating their forces to optimise resources and build effectiveness. This requires system networks that enable greater information sharing together with enhanced integratedl communication systems for ships.

  • Identification systems

Thales naval identification systems provide high-powered, long-range identification capabilities through Combined Interrogator Transponders (CITs) that meet both national and NATO standards including the latest sophisticated secure Mode 5, which will soon be a critical requirement for NATO coalition operations.

    Horizon Electronic Warfare Systems

The essential complement to managing one’s own combat, surveillance and weapons systems is the ability to analyse and protect threats through interception analysis and emission classification. Thales’s electronic warfare systems are designed to ensure vessels are protected, in part by denying enemies the ability to use radar to detect ships.
