This currently includes the Smart-S Mk2 surveillance radar specially optimised for littoral environments, the APAR and Herakles multifunction radars (the latter selected for the FREMM programme), the new-generation MRR 3D NG medium-range multi-role radar and the Smart-L family selected for all new-generation European air defence frigates and the only radar on the market offering a first-layer Theatre Ballistic Missile Defence (TBMD) capability.
Thales is developing the I‑Mast family of integrated modular masts An Integrated Mast houses radar and communications antennas along with optronic mission sensors, IFF antennas, etc. in one single structure. The Royal Netherlands Navy, the launch customer, has selected the Integrated Mast for four offshore patrol vessels (OPVs) now on order. The advantages of an Integrated Mast include reduced ship-building times, increased performance, easier maintenance and lower lifecycle costs.
