At Eurosatory, Thales is proud to introduce a new version of its well-knows Sotas Multimedia Vehicle Communication System. Sotas provides high quality voice and data services.
The new generation of military vehicles is equipped with many C4I components, sensors, effectors and other peripherals. The latest version of Sotas enables the full integration of all vehicle-born subsystems (CNR / SDR radios, navigation, surveillance, defensive aid, etc) and supports the sharing of subsystems for multiple tasks over one common IP network infrastructure.
Sotas offers an advanced Vehicle Electronic Architecture, that supports the capture, processing and sharing of voice, data, and video information. In doing so, Sotas provides the means to quickly and efficiently disseminate information within vehicles, between vehicles and to other elements within the network-enabled operational environment.
Sotas has been tailored for three segments: a Light version for an in-vehicle network, a Mid-size version for more elaborate network capabilities and multimedia data transfer between vehicles and a full-fledged VEA version that interfaces with on-board systems and sensors, and shares data with other nodes in the network-enabled envornment.
Sotas is characterized by a high capacity IP switching and routing platform, aimed at interoperability between countries and high-echelon systems; a complete VoIP solution, with improved audio quality, and a new ergonomic and user-friendly interface.
Gerben Edelijn, CEO of Thales Nederland says: “With this new version of Sotas we prove our leading position in this very competitive market segment. We are proud that many countries demonstrate their trust in Sotas in foreign missions.”
Sotas is the world’s most successful vehicle system. It is operational in over thirty countries on every continent.
