Automated Air Traffic Management Centres: EUROCAT

EUROCAT systems are suited for applications ranging from single approach or tower to complex en-route control in transcontinental, oceanic or very high-density environments.

EUROCAT is designed in line with ICAO and EUROCONTROL guidelines to provide a high level of reliability with full compatibility with current international, recognised standards.

For ATC Global 2008, Thales is highlighting EUROCAT through CANAC 2 programme

CANAC 2 programme

On September 2007, Thales has been selected by Belgocontrol to equip the Brussels international airport with a latest-generation EUROCAT control centre.

Belgium is one of the densest and most complex area in Europe.

The technical capacities of EUROCAT and its background operational experience in numerous European countries were key factors in the decision, as Belgocontrol wishes to achieve revenue from the system within 18 months.

This EUROCAT contains close to 60 controller positions and 5 remote towers. It will replace an air traffic control centre contracted to Thales by 1986.

The demonstration will consist of the replay of a full day records at Brussels (en-route, departure and arrival flights) on the BARCO triple screens (triptych displays).
