For its new, advanced 787 Dreamliner, Boeing has selected Thales's Electrical Power Conversion System, LCD integrated standby flight display and braking computer.

With its new development centre in Seattle, Thales is strengthening its ability to supply next-generation avionics systems. The advanced development environment replicates the aircraft itself as well as air operations, including navigation and traffic control systems.

Thales systems and equipment are fitted to the Boeing 717, 727, 737, 747, 757, 767, 777, 787, DC-9, DC-10, MD-80, MD-11, etc.

Navigation
• Integrated electronic standby instrument
This "three-in-one" instrument combines attitude, airspeed and altitude indications on a single LCD display.
The integrated electronic standby instrument (IESI) is already in service on more than 500 Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Embraer and EADS/CASA aircraft worldwide.

Electrical systems
• Electrical power conversion system
• Lithium/ion battery and charger

Cabin systems
• TopSeries i-8000 in-flight entertainment system
• Cabin lighting (1)
• Mood lighting (1)

Training and simulation

THALES+
Innovation on Boeing's new 787 includes the Electrical Power Conversion System developed by Thales, which optimizes power conversion at multiple voltage levels and offers optimized weight performance over competing systems. For the Dreamliner, Boeing has updated the onboard power rating to meet increased energy demand for a more electrical aircraft and new systems, such as in flight entertainment as well as more traditional loads on the electrical network.

Partner to Boeing
As an equipment supplier, Thales also supplies systems or subsystems for all aircraft in the Boeing commercial airliner family:
• Air data modules
• Integrated electronic standby instrument (IESI)
• Static converter
• Brake temperature control system
• Cockpit and cabin printers
• Radio-altimeter
• Multimode receiver (MMR)
• High-capacity optical disk recorder
• TopSeries in-flight entertainment systems
• Cabin lighting (1)
