The creation in the early 90's of the Transport Automation Group in Portugal, was the birth of the team that, today, study, design, implement and maintain the efficiency of the signalling and rail communication systems a large portion of the National Rail Network.

Present in emblematic projects such as the Gare do Oriente Station (EXPO 98) and the Crossing of Tagus River, over the 25 de Abril Bridge, we have left our stamp on structurally important projects like the modernization of the North Line, the Sintra and the Beira Alta Lines.

Pioneer in the rail sector, Thales has commissioned the first and main OCC (Operational Command Centre) of the Portuguese Rail Network that undoubtedly expands  the boundaries of the rail operation evolution in Portugal.

Fact: Thousands of people travel every day in trains that run on lines controlled by Thales technology.
