Thales's presence at summer's key exhibitions highlight its position among the leaders in avionics and in-flight entertainment systems, and mission critical defense systems.
The Aircraft Interiors Show held in Hong-Kong from September 3rd to 6th and the 28th annual World Airline Entertainment Association (WAEA) exhibition held in Toronto from September 17th to 20th showcased Thales's major status in in-flight entertainement systems. Known as major market events for IFE products, content programming and service, these exhibitions gave Thales the opportunity to promote its offer in IFE activities.
On the business jet market, Thales launched its new retrofit offering for the Americas at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) show held in Atlanta on September 24th. This offering is set to include products such as Integrated Electronic Standby Instruments (IESI), Emergency Locator Transmitters and SatCom systems, and additional product lines will be offered as they become available.
At MAKS international aviation and space show held in Zhukovsky near Moscow in Russia from August 21st to 26th, Thales reinforced its close working relationship with Russian companies such as the air framer Sukhoi whose its Superjet 100 aircraft's rollout took place on September 26th 2007. Thales is most notably a frontline supplier to Sukhoi's future Superjet 100 regional aircraft programme, providing core avionics equipment, integrated maintenance systems, standby instrumentation equipment, flight guidance, management and recording systems, communications and navigation systems, and flight deck display and control equipment, and simulation. In military aerospace, Thales actively cooperates with Russian industry in the field of defense programmes for third party customers including systems for the MiG-21, Su-30MKI and Su-30MKM, and MiG-29.
In addition, Thales's stand at the DSEI (Defence Systems and Equipment International) event held in London Docklands from September 11th to 14th illustrated the company's defence offerings, and how they apply to the requirements of armed forces today and in the future. On this occasion, Thales demonstrated its leadership in providing unrivalled capability in C4, Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR), designed to meet the fast-evolving needs of armed forces.
International exhibitions are veritable meeting points for the world's aerospace industry that enable Thales to increase its contact network and showcase its lastest technologies.
