The new TH 394 tetrode, intended for the high-power FM radio broadcasting market, is specifically designed for the combined broadcast of digital & analog radio using the new IBOC technology.

Equipped with an air-cooling system, this new tetrode joins the range of Thales products, that already includes a very-high-power water-cooled tetrode. The use of air-cooling simplifies transmitter production, while reducing maintenance costs. This tetrode delivers average analog power of 25 kW, and average digital power of 2.5 kW in combined broadcast mode with 10% IBOC. It offers 66 kW of peak power; making it one of the most powerful IBOC broadcast tetrodes on the market.

The TH 394 features the proven technologies that underpin the reliability and performance of Thales's tetrodes. It uses pyrolytic graphite grids that provide a very high degree of mechanical and thermal stability, to support high-power operation, and very low levels of thermal and secondary emission for very high linearity.

To maximize the performance of its new tetrode, Thales offers a perfectly adapted cavity, which is easy to use and does not require any adjustments to the neutralization circuit. The TH 394 delivers the linearity, lifespan and simple installation demanded by the market.
