Jean-François DE VILLOUTREYS
VP Strategy, Naval Division

Jean -François de Villoutreys obtained an Engineering degree in Electronics (ISEP: Institut Supérieur d'Electronique de Paris) in 1976. He then went on to serve in the French army between 1977 and 1978, then serving as a reserve officer from 1978 to 1990 (Chef d'escadron de Cavalerie).

He began working for Thales when it was formerly known as Thomson-CSF as a computer hardware engineer in 1978. He then went on to be the Computer Group Manager of the Technical department between 1980 and 1983.

Between 1983 and 1994, he held many diverse posts, which included Deputy to KAFAD Program Manager (large Air Defense infrastructure for Kuwait), PMT (Plan Moyen Terme) Manager for SDC Division and Air Traffic Management Marketing Project Manager for Russia and CIS. He was the Navaids & Communications Department Manager between 1992 and 1994.

Between 1994 and 1995, he was deputy to THOMFANS Director and between 1995 and 1997 he became ATM SBU (Strategic Business Unit) Strategy and Marketing Manager.

From 1997 until 2003, Jean François was Thales Air Traffic Management Strategy Director and then from July 2004 to January 2005 he joined the Thales Naval Division as Director for Strategic partnership, France.

In January 2005, he was appointed Vice President Strategy for the Naval Division
