Bachu Murthi
Vice President, Strategy

Bachu Murthi graduated with a Masters degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Glasgow in Scotland in 1988. He also holds a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from the same university awarded in 1985.

Prior to joining Thales, he was with Adacel Limited, involved in the deployment of simulation software for the Royal Australian Navy.  He has also worked as a consultant for software engineering companies specialising in solutions for the transportation industry.

He began working for Thales when it was formerly known as Thomson-CSF in 1994 to lead the software deployment effort on the TAAATS (The Advanced Australian Air Traffic System) contract which was awarded to the company in the same year.  He has since held several roles within the company including from 2001 - 2004 as Program Director of the NESACC (North East and South Area Control Centres) contract awarded to Thales in 2001. 

Between 2004 and 2007 he served as the Managing Director and Vice President of Thales Air Systems in Australia. 

In January 2008, he was appointed Vice President Strategy for the Air Systems Division.
