The advertised positions are Marie Curie fellowships awarded by the European Community to Thales Nederland BV. The Marie Curie fellows will be hosted at the Business Unit Joint Radar Sensors Processing, Business Unit Combat Systems and the Strategic Business Unit radar and Sensors of Thales Nederland B.V. in Hengelo the Netherlands.

The research department offers excellent research training facilities where young post-graduate and post-doctoral research fellows can explore the fascinating world of applied research in an industrial and commercial environment. The research staff is experienced in a large number of complex scientific disciplines, which means that the exchange of knowledge and technology is optimal. Due to the nature of the proposed research training projects there are countless opportunities to publish one or more articles or to prepare a PhD-thesis. Also contributions to international conferences are stimulated.

The fellows performing this research will become experts in the very interesting and relevant field of innovative signal processing. They will get the opportunity to work in multi-disciplinary teams consisting amongst others of researchers who belong to the best in their field of expertise. Due to the fact that the fellowships are carried out in an industrial and commercial environment, the research training is an ideal introduction to a possible future career in the industry.

What we offer:

Besides the technical and scientific training, the fellows will gain valuable experience in aspects such as project management, communication, presentation, etc, as they will become members of a dedicated project team, and will have to communicate with several external parties. If the fellowship is completed successfully, there could be an opportunity to enter Thales' staff for a permanent research position.
