Two panels of the non-rotating SEASTAR antenna were suspended in the Compact Antenna Test Range at the Nederland Thales location in Hengelo. The objective of the tests was to measure antenna gain, scan performance and the optimum distance between the radar panel and the radome. Another aspect was to check at what magnitude the various elements influence each other. The tests were satisfying: beam control was obtained on the very first day of the tests and all scheduled test activities were realized. The tests demonstrated that the antenna panel's design is satisfactory: electronics and beam control were excellent. The first customer of SEASTAR, the Royal Netherlands Navy, witnessed the tests and was pleased with the positive test results.
