VIP visit to Thales’s Tornado GR4 flight simulator

The Minister of State (Armed Forces), Rt Hon Bob Ainsworth MP recently visited Thales’s GR4 training services at RAF Lossiemouth in Scotland - the busiest fast-jet base in the Royal Air Force.

Thales, a military training service provider, has been training Tornado GR4 RAF aircrew for over 30 years.

Mr. Ainsworth toured the facility before accepting an invitation to fly a Tornado GR4 simulator.

The Minister was visiting Lossiemouth to meet with his Saudi defence equivalent, Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud. The prince, complete with an entourage of around 30 other VIPs, including five Saudi generals, also visited the simulator where he observed the training of a Saudi aircrew
