Thales Optronics SA moves to Elancourt
18 August 2008
Thales Optronics SA (TOSA), the Group's subsidiary specialised in optics and optronics high technologies, has moved from the site of Guyancourt to Elancourt, near Paris.
This site, where the Air Systems division, through its subsidiary Missile Electronic, the Thales Airborne Systems of Thales Aerospace, but also some teams of the Security Solutions and Services division are already present, is better adapted to optronics activities.
The company is indeed increasing quickly, within the context of a strong development of the optronic sector. This is why TOSA needed a modern and spacious site to reinforce its development dynamic.
Elancourt concentrates today the integrality of the means of conception, development, integration and test of optronic activities of Thales in France. With 1.000 collaborators, this site of 30.000m2, including 6.000m2 of white rooms, is one of the most important in Europe for its speciality.
The new site was inaugurated on July 10, in the presence of Jean-Marie Bockel, French Secretary of State in charge of Defence and Veterans, and Denis Ranque. National customers of the new optronic centre and journalists were also invited.
