Thales Canada Named as GTA Top Employer

Today, Canada’s Top 100 Employers competition, the definitive annual list of the country’s best workplaces, named Thales Canada as a Greater Toronto Top 2020 Employer.

Recognized for excellence in employee communication, training and skills development, physical workplace and atmosphere, health, financial and family benefits, vacation and time-off and community involvement – this is the second year in a row that Thales has been selected as a top employer.

Thales Canada’s Toronto office, also its domestic corporate headquarters, employs more than 1,200 people and is home to the Global Centre of Competence for Urban Rail Signalling.

Following the 2019, $7.3-billion acquisition of global digital security leader Gemalto, Thales increased its capabilities in digital identity and security solutions by expanding its technology portfolio to include Gemalto's Burlington office and welcoming 200 additional employees to its GTA operations.

“Thales Canada brings together a unique mix of expertise to help our customers think smarter and act faster using our high technology solutions. I am exceptionally proud to lead a team of talented professionals who are dedicated to delivering cutting-edge technological solutions for our customers and to our organization.”
Mark Halinaty, CEO, Thales Canada.

For more than 50 years, Thales Canada has been a leader in corporate research and development, supporting customers in the transportation, aerospace, defence and security markets. With operations in seven other Canadian cities from coast-to-coast and a global presence in more than 68 countries, Thales sets ambitious global targets for innovation and inclusion.  More than half of the managers on Thales’ Canadian team are female, with an ongoing organizational commitment to invest in initiatives that promote diversity to attract the next generation of talent.
