TRAC SIGMA
In an increasingly congested airspace, military and civilian Air Traffic Management operators find themselves operating in closer proximity than ever before. Future military aircraft will need to fly at increasingly low and high altitudes in a shared airspace, whilst optimizing distances between aircraft with minimum 3NM separation at longer range, posing significant challenges to airspace management.
Thales introduces TRAC SIGMA, a cutting-edge primary L-Band radar providing simultaneous approach and long-range surveillance for both civil and military Air Traffic Control.
Unique in its class
The new TRACSIGMA is the only L-band primary radar of its class to discriminate small aircraft at an extended range of up to 300KM, while ensuring the 3NM distance separation over the entire airspace and not only for final approach.
Inheriting technology from the TRAC family, the TRACSIGMA offers higher availability, resistance to jamming and radar interferences (due to S-Band saturation), extended coverage, improved discrimination and accuracy, with its 3D air picture features ensuring smoother Civil and Military missions coordination.
With its dual-use capabilities providing segregated and shared data at the same moment in both airspaces, TRACSIGMA helps support seamless and fast civil-military coordination.

Optimized infrastructure & resource management
For military missions the TRACSIGMA is the answer to manage air traffic efficiently, optimzing airspace for several airbases at the same time, with its simultaneous long-range and approach air surveillance, ensuring maximized use of radar infrastructure with comprehensive and extended coverage of the air surveillance picture.
Built on the proven technology of Thales’ TRAC NG and over 50 years of experience in supporting military and civil air operations, TRACSIGMA is the only radar providing multi-mission ATC capabilities for unmatched mission success.
