Legacy Week - 1 to 7 September 2019
Legacy Week, the annual national appeal to raise awareness and much needed funds for the families of Australian Veterans, launched on Monday with a ceremony and reception at The Australian War Memorial. The theme for this year’s Legacy Week is ‘Little Badge. Big Impact’
Our CEO, and Legacy Ambassador, Chris Jenkins, hosted the reception and said Legacy’s role remained as vital today as at any time in its long history of serving the families of Australia’s fallen.
“Thales has been a proud supporter of this iconic and inspirational organisation for over a decade now, as a corporate partner, and through the volunteer work of many of our staff who assist to raise funds for this important cause during Legacy Week and throughout the year.”
Legacy Australia Chairman, Mr Rick Cranna, said the families of the dedicated men and women who serve their country deserve the recognition of their sacrifice and the support of all Australians.
“Legacy’s role continues to evolve to accommodate the changing needs of the families we support, including those affected by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, which it does while keeping the Legacy ethos that has served us proudly since 1923.
Across our sites, there are Legacy badges available for you to purchase not only during Legacy Week, but throughout the entire year.
Legacy currently cares for 52,000 beneficiaries, including 1,845 children and disabled dependants across Australia, and Thales has been a proud partner and supporter of Legacy Australia since 2008.
