The Student Innovation Championship Award ceremony took place in Thales' Toronto office on December 19th. The three winning teams were awarded their prizes and invited to tour the facilities by the same occasion.
Centennial College reprensentatives were in attendance alongside their winning students: Dr. Patrick Kelly, Dean, School of Engineering Technology & Applied Science (SETAS); Dr. Predrag Pesikan, Department Chair, ICET Department, SETAS; Dr. Ali Al-Rubaie, Professor & Program Coordinator, ICET Department, SETAS; Dr. Marjan Zandi, Professor, SETAS. The interim associate Dean of Ryerson University of Engineering, Dr Medhet Shehata was not able to attend but sent his congratulations to all the teams.
Richter, the lead sponsor, was represented by David Lachmansingh, Vice President, Risk Management/Consulting and Asif Mohammed VP, Risk, Performance and Technology Advisory. Guavus, the other sponsor, sent their warm congratulations from Montreal.
Guests were welcomed by Mark Halinaty, President and CEO, Thales Canada and Adrian Abramovici, VP, Operational Functions - North America. Winners were awarded their prizes and were given the opportunity to visit the Transportation test labs and the Cybersecurity Operations Center before sharing a meal with Thales staff.
