Very high-power RF Diacrodes®for particle accelerators applications.

TH 628 operating at 200 MHz, 1 MW - CW, up to 4.5 MW, in short pulses

The TH 628 is a coaxial ceramic-metal Diacrode®, with Hypervapotron cooling. Compared with conventional tetrodes, Diacrode® can either double the output power at a given operating frequency or double the frequency at a given power output. The development of this new generation of grid tubes draws on Thales long experience as a manufacturer of tubes for accelerators and synchrotrons.

  • Anode dissipation: 800 kW
  • High gain and linearity
  • High stability du to Pyrobloc grids
  • Hypervapotron cooling

TH 680 operatingat up to 1 GHz, 50 kW CW, 80 kW in long pulses

The TH 680 is a ceramic-metal Diacrode® of coaxial structure particularly suitable for use as an RF amplifier in particle accelerators. The technology of this tube has already been well proven and benefit from the company’s long experience in tetrodes and diacrodes.

The TH 680 incorporates Thales patented Hypervapotron cooling to allow a substantial safety margin of tolerable anode dissipation and Pyrobloc® grids for enhanced stability, reliability and operating life. The TH 18680 cavity has been custom designed to get the best performance from the TH 680 Diacrode® from 470 up to 850 MHz. For operation in different frequency ranges, other circuits are possible.

These products are designed, developed and manufactured at an ISO 9001/V2000 and ISO 14001 registered production site.
