Platforms and vehicles are increasingly sophisticated and need to have a lot of mission packages and network capabilities integrated in them. In parallel, tighter budgets constraints are driving a new open and modular vehicle approach.
Thales develops strong partnerships with platform manufacturers in order to propose an optimised, network- enabled electronic architecture and offers vehicle solutions for all kind of missions :
- Reconnaissance, Surveillance, Targeting Acquisition (RSTA), combat
- Command & Control
- logistics.
We integrate new systems with existing legacy equipment and platforms according to the customers’ needs. Thales’ capabilities extend from the supply of product/mission packages, to full system integration together with innovative support services. All types of vehicle programmes, wheeled or tracked, retrofit or new, are addressed.

As system integrator/Prime:
-BGTI, for British Army, the Battle Group Thermal Imaging system includes gunners & commander’s sights, Inertial Navigation System & Driver’s Display, fitted on Warrior & Scimitar vehicles. 600 systems.
-Bushmaster, an infantry transport vehicle offers high level of protection & mobility. Selected by Australian forces. 300 vehicles are in production.
-ECM system for Swiss Army is an important part of the Surveillance and Radio Transmission IFASS system.
As well as full indirect combat system, which integrates non turreted mounting mortar , target designation tripod, Fire Control System and the associated C2 & communications.
Over 25,000 platforms of 150 different types have been delivered to date by Thales using its own industrial vehicle integration capabilities across the world, including local facilities in France, UK, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Australia as well aspartner facilities.
