Thales Alenia Space statement concerning orbital positioning of the Palapa-D satellite

Cannes, September 3, 2009 – Thales Alenia Space announced today that the Palapa-D communications satellite has been placed into a Geostationary Transfer Orbit (GTO), which will enable starting a nominal Launch Early Operation Phase.

The three perigee boost maneuvers required to adapt the injection orbit at spacecraft separation were performed successfully. They were carried out securely and with optimised use of propellant.
