Thales Australia launches new Cyber Security Services Business led by industry leader Jacqui Kernot
Thales Australia and New Zealand is launching a new cyber security services business led by Jacqui Kernot, leveraging Thales’ national security pedigree to help protect Australia’s critical infrastructure, with a particular focus on those with heavy use of operational technology.
“We’ve seen the critical infrastructure Australia relies upon – ports, airports, power stations, health care, production, finance and insurance – increasingly be the target of hostile cyber activity,” said Ms Kernot. “No other company can bring together cyber security expertise and defence pedigree like Thales Australia to help protect these sectors. I’m proud to be part of the cyber security business that our nation needs” Ms Kernot said.
Chief Executive Officer of Thales Australia, Jeff Connolly said Ms Kernot’s appointment represented a new direction for the Australian business.
“As a company that’s always safeguarded Australia, we want to do our part on the new frontline to help defend Australia’s critical infrastructure and businesses,” said Mr Connolly.
“Jacqui joining the business will bring new focus to our enduring purpose of being what Australia needs us to be. We also will be drawing on the Thales group wider technology leadership, as well as our deep connections to Australia’s national security architecture” Mr Connolly said.
The establishment of a new cyber security services business and appointment of a new Vice President will expand the coverage and services offered by Thales following the acquisition of Tesserent in 2023.
