Rail Live!

From November 29th to December 1st

According to recent data from the INE (National Statistics Institute), during the first quarter of 2022 more than 120 million passengers used the railways as a means of transport in Spain. This overwhelming figure gives a good idea of the importance of trains in our lives. Even more so if we take into account that, according to the same source, almost six million tonnes of freight have been moved by rail during the same period.

These figures only highlight one reality: rail transport is essential today and will be even more so in the future. Especially if we take into account the pressing need for first world countries to find sustainable mobility solutions that do not use non-renewable resources, are safe and provide a pleasant travel experience for passengers.

In this environment, the Rail Live! event can be a major breakthrough. Over three days -from November 29th to December 1st-, more than 250 specialists from more than 40 countries will meet at the Trade Fair and Congress Centre in Malaga to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the railway, the investments planned to continue with its implementation and its digital transformation. Because there is still a lot to do, especially in terms of decarbonisation and digitalisation of transport.

As an expert in rail transport, Thales will be present at this important event both with a stand and at the conferences. Issues in which the company has extensive experience will be discussed, such as the application of revolutionary technologies in the railway sector, including asset management, artificial intelligence, big data, predictive maintenance and cybersecurity.

The organisation of Rail Live! 2022 is supported by Mafex, the Spanish Railway Industry Association, in addition to the collaboration of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, through Adif and Renfe; the Andalusian Regional Government, Malaga City Council, Malaga Metro, the Spanish Railway Foundation, the Spanish Railway Technology Platform and ICEX. Other organisations such as UNIFE, EIM, Europe's Rail, In-move by Railgrup and Railway Innovation Hub are also participating.
