Thales has confirmed its strong leadership in Latin America by delivering over 170 radars and 25 Air Traffic Control Centres across Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico and Uruguay, as well as navigation ais (Navaids) to nearly all countries in the region. Thales is the leader in the Air Traffic domain in Brazil (70% of the radars operating in the country).
Through its subsidiary Omnisys in Brazil, Thales produces L-Band long range air surveillance radars as well as secondary radars and has become the global radar excellence center of Thales Group, focusing on the domestic and export markets. Thales provides 100% of Air Traffic control centres and 80% of Radar country coverage in Mexico. In Bolivia, end of 2015, Thales has signed an ATM contract with Bolivia to provide 13 civil and military radars, a Command and Control Center and a Training Center.
In Brazil, Thales supplies Embraer with equipment for their commercial and business jets and Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) and GPS for the military jet KC-390. In Chile, Thales supplies In-Flight Entertainment systems (IFE) to LAN aircrafts. In Mexico, Thales provides Aeromexico, Mexico’s global airline, with the Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) to integrate a complete surveillance solution.
