Overview
Thales has been selected for the construction of new metro lines in Dominican Republic, Chile and Panama, confirming its position as leader in the transportation area in these countries.
In Mexico, Thales is a reference for Signaling, Communication and Ticketing areas, as well as in PayToll Systems. In that country, Thales is a leader in toll business with 30% market share and developed the first experiences of ticketing in Latin America with solutions for the Metrobus and the Light Train. Thales also supplied the Automatic Train Control System (ATS) for 11 lines of the metro in Mexico and is also a Competence Center for tolling solutions and intends to export to other countries in the region.
Thales signed relevant contracts for rail signaling and telecommunications for metros, monorails and BRTs, besides suburban and intercity train systems including Lines 3 and 6 of Santiago metro in Chile, Line 17 of Sao Paulo metro in Brazil and Intercity train line (Mexico-Toluca).
Thales has two Integration Centers in Latin America: Brazil and Mexico.
