Three Thales products awarded French cybersecurity quality label
As part of France's war on cybercrime, industry professionals have teamed with end users and government experts to create a quality label for French cybersecurity products and services. At this year's International Cybersecurity Forum (FIC 2015), Thales was one of 17 companies awarded quality labels as a further assurance to users that their systems are effectively protected from cyber threats.
A hallmark of French quality…
France's leadership in cybersecurity is widely recognised. This year, a special quality label (Label France Cybersécurité) was created to attest to the quality of cyber products and services developed, delivered or hosted in France.
…and a priority of the French cybersecurity plan
The label is more than a hallmark of quality for French hardware and software products, consultancy services and security solutions — it's one of the priorities of the French government's cybersecurity plan. This three-year plan is tackling cybercrime by compiling and analysing data about cyber incidents, formulating responses to security breaches and raising public awareness of cyber threats. The new quality label is part of this public awareness campaign. It promotes French cybersecurity solutions by highlighting their quality, which encourages organisations and individuals to deploy them and ultimately improves end user protection.
Three Thales solutions awarded
For this first round of awards, Thales's Teopad, Mistral and Elips-SD solutions received the Label France Cybersécurité. Based on a detailed examination by cyber industry professionals, end users and government experts, all three of these Thales products successfully passed muster for their quality and performance. Axelle Lemaire, France's Secretary of State for the digital economy, awarded the labels to the companies concerned during an official ceremony at FIC 2015.
