The Thales Datacryptor® range of hardware encryptors provides strong and certified perimeter security for a wide range of network architectures including, leased lines, Frame Relay, X.25, and SONET/SDH networks.
With triple DES (168-bit) or AES (128, 192, 256-bit) algorithms built in, or using other customized, or national algorithms, it is the first family of encryption products to offer algorithm flexibility and protocol agility. This means that not only can the unit be programmed with different cryptographic algorithms as specified by the customer, but depending on the infrastructure and certain physical limitations, the same unit can be loaded to support various communications protocols. These unique features enable territory-specific algorithms to be implemented, which protects the customer's investment by allowing migration to changing protocols and new algorithms.

The Datacryptor Link establishes secure point-to-point communications transparent to data protocols over private or public networks. The Datacryptor AP E3/T3 model supports data rates up to 45 Mbps. Standard, high and very high speed models are available.
The Standard model is capable of synchronous data transmission at speeds up to 512 Kbps over RS-232, V.35 and V.11/X.21. The High Speed model is capable of data transmission on a framed or unframed T1/E1 interfaces at speeds up to 1.544/2.048 Mbps; 8Mbps over V.35 and X.21 in the case of the very high speed model. These units will also operate unframed over RS-232, V.35 and V.11/X.21 up to 8 Mbps with suitable 'smart' cables.
In addition, a Channelised model is available to protect data transmitted over multi point dedicated circuits where framed user data is presented in 24 or 32 timeslots at the central (channelised) site and distributed to multiple remote sites as single or multiple 56K/64K circuits. This model can support up to 31 encrypted timeslots connected to remote peer units, significantly reducing the cost of deploying a secure multi point leased line network. In band communication techniques for management and key exchanges are used and remote units can be Channelised, Standard, or High Speed Link Datacryptors.
With few high speed link encryption devices available in the market, the Datacryptor AP E3/T3 delivers wire-speed encrypted data transfer at rates from 34 to 45 Mbps, together with the easy to use centralized management application, Element Manager, which is common across the Datacryptor range. Element Manager enables single-point monitoring with secure control of the entire Datacryptor family of encryptors in a customers' network infrastructure, thereby reducing the total initial investment and recurring training costs.
