The Thales Alenia Space OMNISAT is a modular solution for satellite earth observation and scientific data reception, combining data conversion, demodulation and data ingestion functionality in a cost efficient single unit, and offering furthermore the capability of receiving several channels in parallel.

  • Handling of the widest variety of satellite signals :
    • Data signal rate up to 500 Mbit/s
    • Wide range of modulation scheme (BPSK, QPSK, SQPSK - OQPSK, UQPSK, AQPSK - optional 8PSK)
    • Any decoding scheme (Viterbi, Reed-Solomon)
    • Fully factory configured for specific missions characteristics, or customer configurable. Customer re-configurable after installation
  • Local monitoring and control or via TCP/IP interface
  • Real time Spectrum Analyser and Constellation Display

The multimission versatility, the 6 modulations schemes and a wide choice of coding schemes, greatly enhances the effectiveness of receiving stations by reducing the number of dedicated duplicated receive chains. Hardware costs are dramatically reduced, leading to commensurate cuts in the costs of maintenance and spare parts inventory.
