Engineering and Technology Apprentices
With Advanced, Higher and Degree Level opportunities available, our engineering apprenticeships offer something for everyone. Our programmes are between 2-4 years in duration and are fully aligned to UK SPEC, proving an excellent grounding for those wishing to become a chartered engineer. In partnership with our trusted training providers, colleges and universities, you will work towards a fully funded qualification whilst gaining valuable on the job experience.
Business Apprentices
Our apprenticeships in Business are a great way to see first-hand how a multi-national organisation operates. Typically 2 years in duration, we offer fully funded industry recognised professional qualifications alongside close support and mentorship. With programmes across Project Planning, Procurement, IT and HR this is a great first step on the ladder for those looking to build a career in business.
What do I get out of being an apprentice?
As a Thales in the UK apprentice, you will receive the following training and development opportunities:
- Work alongside experts in the industry, shadowing them and learning from them as you work through your programme
- All of our apprenticeships include an industry recognised qualification, fully funded by Thales in the UK. This means that at the end of your programme, you won’t just achieve the apprenticeship. You will achieve a standalone qualification too
- We will pay for a professional membership for you every year, so you can build your professional network and access a wealth of resources to support your continued professional development.
- Upon completing your apprenticeship, those with an aspiration to do so will be supported to achieve a professional qualification with a recognised body such as The Institute of Engineering and Technology, or the Association of Project Managers

1. Quick Apply Application Form:
You will enter basic, personal information and select the role you’re applying for.
2. Pre-screening Application Form:
You will be sent a link to complete a more detailed application. We use this information to check essential role eligibility criteria, such as right to work status and educational requirements and collect additional data to inform our future attraction strategy .
3. Online Psychometric Assessment:
Once the application form is complete and we have determined that you meet the basic eligibility requirements for the position you’ve applied for you, you will be sent a psychometric test to complete. These tests give us a chance to find out a bit more about you and provide measures of future potential in alignment with the Thales in the UK competency behavioural framework which forms part of our screening process for assessment centre down selection.
4. Assessment Centre:
This is where we get to see you in action. It’s your opportunity to find out more about our organisation and learn about our culture. You’ll demonstrate your skills in a variety of exercises including a competency interview, technical interview (Graduates only) and group exercise.
5. Offer:
If you successfully complete the assessment centre stage and you’ll be offered a position at Thales in the UK.
What do I need?
There are no upper age limits to apply but, depending on the level of Apprenticeship, you will need five GCSEs, or equivalent, including English and Maths or A-level qualifications (high-level Apprenticeship only), enthusiasm, drive, resourcefulness, commitment and an interest in technology.
