We want you to be the best you can possibly be. So first off, we’ll make sure you get plenty of experience, getting you close to projects that can boost your raw talent.
We also want you to get the support and training you deserve. So, as well as giving you a role that will see you working alongside true experts, we’ll pay for you to study towards a relevant qualification from an accredited training provider.
What’s more, all apprentices are invited to attend two weeks of residential training with the Outward Bound Trust. Based in the beautiful location of Eskdale in the Lake District, the programme will help you to develop core business skills around team working, effective communication, problem solving and self-management. It’s also the perfect opportunity to network and build relationships with apprentices from across the UK.
The first week consists of climbing, canoeing, hiking, camping, scrambling and other activities geared towards team building. During the first week, you will have the opportunity to challenge yourself and step out of your comfort zone, helping you build in confidence with the support of your peers.
Week two activities are geared towards problem solving. Some of the activities include raft building, orienteering, project work, solving complex issues and building on everything you’ll have learnt in week one.
We find that our apprentices really enjoy and value their experiences at Outward Bound. And the feedback confirms that:
‘“The challenges were very real life based and it is easy to take these skills and apply somewhere else in life.”
“The experience provided a great insight into my leadership style and really boosted my self-confidence”
