Alex Cresswell - Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Thales UK

Alex Cresswell began his career in 1985 with BAE Systems before joining Thales in the UK in 1992, occupying various positions in strategy, programme and general management.  From 2001, he led the UK Watchkeeper programme, becoming VP of ISTAR and UAV systems for the group in 2005, then from 2007 he led Land & Joint Systems. 

He was appointed as Director of the Land Defence Division, and became a member of the Thales Group Executive Committee in 2010, then in 2013 was appointed as Executive Vice-President, Land and Air Systems, a global business with Eur3.4Bn revenues and 11,000 employees. He is the non-executive chairman of Thales Australia.

Alex is a graduate of Southampton University with an Honours degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics, is a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society and recipient of the Légion d'honneur.
 

Hervé Derrey - Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer

Hervé Derrey holds degrees from Ecole Polytechnique and Telecom ParisTech. He started his career at Alcatel in 1991 in the mobile infrastructure networks domain, where he was successively Validation Engineer, Export Project Director and Professional Services Director.  In 1999, Hervé Derrey took over responsibility for Wide Band Access Solutions for Europe, the Middle-East and Africa and deployed the first ADSL networks, in particular in France. In 2001, he was appointed Director of Alcatel’s e-business Transformation Programme and implemented the group’s  first digital transformation.

In 2003, Hervé Derrey was promoted to the role of Vice-President, Mobile Applications, covering the portfolio of prepaid billing systems and applications for mobile handsets. From 2005 to 2011, within Alcatel and then Alcatel-Lucent, he held the role of Network Integration Vice-President.

He joined Thales in 2011 as Vice-President Strategic and Infrastructure Networks. In 2012, Hervé Derrey was appointed Vice-President for the worldwide Radiocommunication Products Business Line covering the Group’s radio portfolio as well as its identification and electronic warfare activities. In 2016, he became Senior Vice-President, and Chief Operating Officer for the Secure Information and Communications Systems Global Business Unit. In this role he was also in charge of the Global Business Unit’s French legal entities.
 

Jean-Loïc Galle - Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Performance Officer

 

Jean-Loïc Galle graduated from Ecole Centrale in Paris and holds a MBA from INSEAD.
 
Formerly, head of the software engineering department for SFENA, Jean-Loïc Galle, joined Sextant in 1991, first as Manager of Mergers and Acquisitions, then moving into managing positions, including the Helicopter Avionics Business Unit.
 
In 1999, he became the General Manager of the Military Avionics Business Line of Thales Avionics. Between 2003 and 2007, he held the position as CEO of Thales Raytheon Systems France. In 2007, he took charge of Surface Radars activities within the Air Systems Division of Thales.
 
He was promoted to Senior Vice President of Air Operations in February 2010 and was a member of the groups Executive Committee.
 
From September 2012, Jean-Loïc Galle is Senior Vice President, Space.
