La France au CERN 2018, the chance to strengthen our partnership!
The 9th and 10th October 2018 marked the 15th "La France au CERN", an international event held every two years at CERN in Geneva. The event looks to bring together members of the scientific community and key actors in the domain of particle acceleration from around the world.
With a total of 43 companies, 31 exhibitors and 3 business rooms, 4 scientific meetings and more than 120 meetings took place over the two days; La France au CERN was a complete success.
As such, Thales Microwave & Imaging Sub-Systems (MIS) had the opportunity to talk with scientists, students, engineers and suppliers from all over the world. The event was also, of course, a perfect way to interact with our historical and trusted partner in the field of radio frequency technologies, CERN.
CERN and Thales MIS: a historic partnership
CERN is one of the most prestigious scientific laboratories in the world and one of the first international organisations in Europe. Internationally recognised for its discoveries, it has become a well-known reference in the world of applied and fundamental research. Thales Microwave & Imaging Sub-Systems (MIS) has collaborated with CERN for many years across a number of domains relative to radio frequency sources. In the early 2000's, Thales MIS became the sole supplier of these sources used by CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Thales's high-power RF solutions – klystrons, tetrodes, IoT, multi-beam klystrons – remain today CERN's preferred solutions to supply the RF energy required for particle accelerators.
