The Sophie Club offers users of Thales's soldier optronics solutions a place to meet and interact, a chance to share their experiences and work with our engineers and specialists to co-design the products and services of the future.
Almost every year for the last 15 years, a live Sophie Club event has been organised in different parts of the world — recent venues include Abu Dhabi, Nice and Amsterdam — and hosted by elite units of each nation's land forces.
Attendance has grown steadily over the years, and members have consistently welcomed these unique opportunities to share their insights, explore new ideas and propose innovative functions, features and support solutions for their soldier optronics products.
New event format
In 2021, the Sophie Club launched a new event format to give customers and users a chance to try out Thales equipment in immersive conditions that match the realities of the battlefield as closely as possible. With a complete programme of keynotes, product presentations, workshops and night-time demonstrations, the Sophie Tour will visit multiple venues throughout the year to help create connections between members of the Sophie community around the world.
The Sophie community welcomes all users of Thales solider optronics products and services, including dismounted soldiers, recce, fire support and intelligence units, as well as Special Forces and logistics support professionals.
The Thales specialists taking part in the Sophie Tour include product line managers, optronics engineers, system architects and developers of the next generation of digital services for customers, users and maintenance organisations.
