Data Privacy Statement - How is my information used?

 
Gemalto SA, a company organized under the laws of France with its registered office located at 6 rue de la Verrerie 92100 Meudon, is acting as a data controller in relation to this recruitment site and the database on which your information will be stored.  The database itself is located in the United Kingdom.
 
The information you provide here may be shared for recruitment purposes with one or more legal entities members of the Gemalto corporate group throughout the world, each of which is an independent legal entity and is acting as a data controller.  If you require more information about how your data is used, please read the full privacy policy, which is detailed below.

This policy is intended to describe the practices Gemalto follows in relation to this global recruitment site with respect to privacy.

Please note that 'Gemalto' is used to refer to any legal entities of the Gemalto corporate group. Reading this policy, you will notice that we also use 'we' to refer to Gemalto.

Expressing an interest in working for Gemalto

This section explains how your information will be used when you submit information via this site.

The provision of your personal data is optional: however, please be aware that your refusal to provide us with your personal data or to process them thereafter may result in the data controller not being able to carry out any activity related to your recruitment in relation to this online environment.

Who can access your information?

Access to your information is limited by need. All recruitment staff within the Gemalto corporate group worldwide have access to your profile on the database and are able to match your details to current vacancies.

We may need to share your information with third parties but only for the following reasons:

  • When it is necessary to involve a third-party service provider in order to facilitate or extend recruitment services
  • When explicitly requested by you.
  • As required by a court order or any other legal or regulatory requirement.

Gemalto does not collect or compile personal data or information obtained by this site for dissemination or sale to outside parties for consumer marketing purposes or host mailings on behalf of third parties.

Why do we need your information?

Your information will be used by Gemalto for administering the global recruitment program of its corporate member. This will include planning and monitoring recruitment campaigns and notify you from time to time of current vacancies.

Your personal profile and application progress.

You have a responsibility to ensure you submit accurate information and keep it up to date. This can be done via the "Candidate Portal." The Candidate Portal requires a valid e-mail address as a login, along with other information, some of which is mandatory. Mandatory information will be marked accordingly. Your email address allows us to communicate with you if your qualifications and/or preferences match job opportunities or if you opt to receive automated notifications of job postings at any member of the Gemalto corporate group.

Your personal profile also makes it possible for you to access the recruitment section of the site to monitor the progress of your application or amend your details should you wish to do so.

Applying for a job outside of your home country

If you wish to apply for a job in a country outside of your home country, we may need to ask you questions that are specific to the country where the job is located. This is because in certain countries, before we can offer someone a job, we have to ask certain additional questions. These questions will be relevant and necessary for the job advertised and consistent with our legal obligations.

"Send this job to a friend" – The "Refer" Program.

You may wish to forward a job on this site to a friend. You can do this by clicking on the "Send this job to a friend" link, which can be found in each job description. We will require your e-mail address and the e-mail address of the recipient, your friend. We collect this information so that we can forward the job description and your e-mail address to avoid the possibility of the information being treated as spam. In addition, when we contact your friend, he/she will be provided with full details of how their information will be used, specifically in relation to their rights and details of the entity acting as a data controller, in line with this notice.

Data Retention

You may, of course, ask to have your information deleted at any time. Your information will remain on file with us as long as you are actively pursuing positions with Gemalto. However, please note that your data will not be kept more than three (3) years after the last contact with you.  

Sensitive personal data

In the initial stages of the recruitment process, we do not seek to collect information that is considered sensitive. Sensitive information is information about an individual that would fall into one or more of the following categories:

  • race or ethnic origin;
  • political opinion;
  • membership of a political association or religious beliefs, affiliations, or philosophical beliefs;
  • membership of a professional or trade association or membership of a trade union;
  • sexual preferences or practices;
  • criminal record; and/or
  • health.

To the extent that you supply any information to support your application or as part of your personal profile, you agree that we may use the information in accordance with local applicable law and in line with this policy.

However, please be aware that we may need to collect sensitive personal data at a later stage in the recruitment process if local employment regulations require us to do so. By submitting your sensitive personal information, you are agreeing to it being used in accordance with the details outlined in this policy.

Referees

If you provide any information in relation to third parties or referees, you are responsible for obtaining their consent and ensuring they are aware that their details will be forwarded to, and used by, legal entities of the Gemalto corporate group.

Access, rectification, and opposition

If you are unable to access your details via your personal profile or you want, in accordance with applicable laws, to obtain a copy of your personal data/rectify/update or exercise your right to ask us to stop processing your information, please contact us at [gdpr.Talentacquisition.gemalto@gemalto.com]

Security

We have implemented accepted standards of technical measures and security policies that protect the personal data it has under its control from:

  • Unauthorized access
  • Improper use or disclosure
  • Unauthorized modification
  • Unlawful destruction or accidental loss

Children

This recruitment site covered by this privacy policy is not intended for use by children. You have to be at least 18 years old to apply for a job. We understand the importance of protecting children's information, especially in an online environment, and we do not knowingly collect or maintain information about children.

Changes to this policy

We may change this policy as needed. If changes are made, please note that it may take up to 30 business days before new policy practices are implemented.
