he impressive and fast development of Emirati airlines Emirates and Etihad have increased aerospace-related sales in the region, boosting demand for the Group’s aerospace related solutions and products. Particular emphasis must be placed on the Group’s In-Flight Entertainment systems and connectivity (IFE) which supplies Etihad Airways’ entire Airbus and Boeing fleets.

Thales was awarded a contract, in 2008, to supply the whole of the ATM and navigation systems for Abu Dhabi’s International Airport, in addition to its various air traffic radars previously implemented around the country.

In 2015 Etihad selected Thales for its dual configuration Head Up Displays to equip the first 12 aircraft of its new Airbus A350XWB fleet scheduled to be delivered from December 2017 by Airbus. A total of 62 A350XWBs have been ordered by Etihad.
