Trust is the basis for successful cooperation. Thales maintains active partnerships with institutions and companies with security-related tasks in Germany and abroad.

Our core competencies in the maritime capability spectrum lie in the field of command and weapon deployment systems (FüWES) of the German Navy, where extensive know-how in software development, testing and integration as well as software maintenance and modification has been created through successful projects on the ships of the classes F 123, F 124, K 130 and the Einsatzgruppenversorgern (EGV). In these fields we work closely with partner companies on the implementation of the systems.

Like many other companies, Thales is confronted daily with the growing challenges of technical skills and requirements as well as competition for know-how and talent.

In the search for a suitable opportunity not only to develop employees but also to survive in the fierce competition for skilled workers and future talents, Thales has joined forces with the Jade University of Applied Sciences in Wilhelmshaven. The cooperation initially involves collaboration within the framework of the dual study programme "Electrical Engineering" in the Faculty of Engineering. The aim is to link theory and operative business in a company like Thales with the students at an early stage.

In the future, there will be an elective module with subjects that reflect the special naval core competencies and business field developments in the maritime sector, such as cybersecurity, systems engineering, but also topics such as artificial intelligence and the digitisation capabilities of platforms will be dealt with through the cooperation.

With this cooperation, students have the opportunity at an early stage to familiarize themselves with the practice and the associated current issues in the engineering field. From Thales Germany's point of view, the cooperation offers a number of advantages, especially in the areas of human resources development and promotion and the implementation of an interdisciplinary knowledge base.
