The excellent performance of the RDY-2 is basically achieved by making optimum use of three, automatically managed, waveforms:

  • High pulse repetition frequency: velocity search and long range look-down detection
  • Medium pulse repetition frequency: all-aspect look-up/look-down detection
  • Low pulse repetition frequency: look-up long-range detection, air-to-ground and air-to-surface modes

Automatic management of waveforms is optimized according to the detection conditions.

Multirole capability
The RDY-2 is designed to meet all the pilot’s requirements in all types of missions: Air-to-Air, Air-to-Ground and Air-to-Sea.

Maintenance
The RDY-2 is designed to reduce maintenance in terms of manpower, turnover and cost.
During flight or operation on the ground, built-in test equipment (BITE) performs automatic or cued checks and indicates results on the cockpit display.
The modular design of the radar makes it possible to change the faulty LRU quickly at
organizational level.
At intermediate level, two automatic test benches select the faulty devices in the LRUs.
