Thales has wrapped up its participation at the Singapore Airshow 2020, which saw it hosting key customers and delegations, while showcasing solutions in identity and biometrics for airports and air traffic management.
Thales’ aviation journey in Singapore is entering its 47th year now, and it has continued to build on the relationships with our key stakeholders, aligning with Singapore’s vision of growing a safe, secure and vibrant air hub and making a key contribution to Singapore's success.
In his speech marking the official opening of the Airshow, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat highlighted Thales’ collaboration with Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore over the Aviation Innovation Research Lab, for which an MOU was signed last September.
During the Singapore Airshow, Thales warmly welcomed VIP visits from the Singapore Minister for Defence, Ng En Hen, and Minister for Transport, Mr. Khaw Boon Wan, to our stand, indicative of the strong relationship Thales has been building with Singapore and the region. Thales also welcomed a visit by Singapore’s Changi Airport Group, as well as many key military and civil delegations from Brunei, Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar and Vietnam.
Thales also featured in two thought leadership panel discussions. Hervé Jarry, Chief Technology Officer at Thales in Singapore, discussed the opportunities and challenges of Artificial Intelligence in aviation at the Aerospace Technology Leadership Forum on 10 February and the future of urban air mobility at the Lindberg Innovation Forum on 13 February.
During the Airshow, Thales announced its collaboration with Sichuan Airlines, which selected Thales CORE IFE system for its future fleet of A350 aircraft to deliver on their promise for exceptional passenger experience. With this collaboration, passengers on board the airline will enjoy new SELECT graphical user interface (GUI) featuring the latest user experience technologies creating the most intuitive passenger experience ever.
