Thales appoints Frédérique Miller to head South East Asia Region
Thales, a world leader in Aerospace, Defence, Security, Space, and Transportation, has appointed Frédérique Miller as Vice-President for South East Asia. Frédérique succeeds Marie-Laure Bourgeois, who has taken on the role of Vice-President for International Sales for Thales’ Security business, based in France.

With close to thirty years of professional experience, Ms. Miller is responsible for the strategic direction and growth for Thales in the ten ASEAN markets, Papua New Guinea and Timor Leste, as well as Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the Indian subcontinent.
Ms. Miller began her Thales career in 1991 in a former Thales subsidiary, Thomson Broadcast Systems, in charge of broadcasters and cable operators. Over the next twenty years, she took on a variety of business development and export sales management roles, expanding her international leadership skills and expertise in various telecommunications entities. Prior to taking on her current role, Ms. Miller was Vice President for Thales in South Africa and Southern Africa, based in Johannesburg, where she successfully positioned Thales for export growth in the region.

Thales has been a strong presence in South East Asia over the past forty years with achievements in the Defence and Civil sectors. Since the beginning of 2017, Thales has had significant activity in the region, including signing its first transportation contract in Vietnam with the Hanoi Metro, providing avionics maintenance and support for leading low-cost carrier, Air Asia’s full A320neo fleet, and successfully launching the Telkom 3S telecommunications satellite for Indonesia.
Ms. Miller is a Business Administration graduate from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Dijon. She also graduated from the Institut Hautes Etudes Défense Nationale in the field of Armament & Defense Economy. Alongside her business acumen, she is also passionate about diversity causes, having spearheaded a Women’s Leadership Initiative at Thales in South Africa as a platform for women to interact and network as they progressed in the careers. She is based in Singapore with her husband.
