Thales Research and Technology (TRT) is tasked with extending the influence of Thales within the scientific and technical community, providing a platform for innovation and knowledge sharing, as well as attracting talented science graduates to expand in-house expertise.
7% of our revenue is reinvested in R & D. Each year, we file hundreds of patents, and every day our global network of 20,000 scientists share ideas on how to conquer the latest challenges of a breath taking range of applications within the aerospace, defence, security, space and transport markets.
In many cases, we develop not just new technology but a whole new way of doing things.
Our Research and Technology (currently links to Groups’ R&T page on old site) facility in Reading, Berkshire, exemplifies this approach. Working in close collaboration with various government agencies, universities and private research organisations, Thales Research and Technology (UK) Ltd has an enviable track record of innovation. Thishas led directly to four Queen's Awards for Technology, gained by Thales companies, as well as recently gaining the ‘Investors in Innovation’ accreditation, for commitment to catalysing growth through innovation.
