Engineering Our World

Thales is part of a new online news-style programme to promote greater understanding of the role engineering plays in our everyday lives.

The Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) has joined forces with ITN Productions to make Engineering our World, a documentary introduced by national newsreader Natasha Kaplinksy which explores the engineering industry, with reports, interviews and features on the organisations, companies and individuals at the forefront of change.

Engineers work across communications, IT, sustainable energy, smart technology, green transport, education, healthcare delivery and much more. They have the ability to develop and implement complex and robust systems to meet society’s changing needs across all of these sectors.

But with a major skills gap and a growing demand for integrated solutions, where are the next generation of engineers coming from and what are organisations doing to attract young people into engineering? The challenge for every organisation in the industry is to find and develop the best talent.

Watch the Thales segment from Engineering Our World below and find out how our engineers are contributing to the world we live in.
