Thales partners with Inspiring Futures to support future engineers

In the run up to National Apprenticeship Week 9-13 March, we held a networking event for aspiring engineers in partnership with Inspiring Futures, a not for profit careers advice organisation.

60 young people, aged between 16 and 18, came to visit our Crawley site to learn more about a career in engineering. The students from colleges around the South East saw presentations from guest speakers and met current Thales employees. Our Thales engineers shared their industry knowledge and explained the breadth of their roles at Thales.

The students were also treated to a tour of the Crawley manufacturing facility and saw first hand some of the engineering activities that take place at Thales.

This event forms part of our UK-wide programme of outreach activities, centred on three key themes of youth, technology and education, as well as our commitment to the community. The programme focuses on Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM) topics and aims to ensure that Thales plays an active role in the creation of a sustainable UK engineering workforce for the future.
