Thales on Track to Improve Capacity across the Capital

Last Friday BBC London and a number of Trade Press representatives joined Andy Bell, VP, Urban Rail Signalling Thales UK, and Stuart Harvey Systems Programme Director, London Underground, at the Rail Innovation & Development Centre (RIDC) in Melton to talk about the 4 Lines Modernisation Programme.

The successful visit to RIDC on Friday with London BBC, which included time in the control centre and a ride on the test train, gave Andy and Stuart the opportunity to talk about the progress being made on the 4LM Programme and highlight the strong collaborative relationship.

This demonstration provided the opportunity for the audience to understand Thales’s technology and gave visibility of timeframes for the transition to full production train fitment, when Londoners can expect to see the benefits impact on their every day. This milestone demonstrates Thales’s contribution to the new Tube for London and investment in the Digital Railway across the UK, helping to improve capacity and safety on all elements of the transport network.
Andy Bell said of the visit;

“I was very proud to be able to share with the Press some good news around our achievements to date on 4LM. The Press interest is recognition of our hard workand the system maturity, as well as a reflection of the importance of this programme to London. It was a great privilege to talk to London BBC about the work done so far and the team we have in place.”
