Vice-President, Thales Alenia Space
Johanne Lecomte is Vice-President, Business Development for Thales Alenia Space, in Arlington, VA. She is responsible for increasing business in North America in all four space segments, Telecom, Observation, Exploration and Navigation.
She has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunication and satellite industry. She was Vice-President of Sales and Marketing in North America for almost a decade at EADS Astrium (now Airbus Defense and Space) leading programs with Terrestar, Intelsat, Telesat and DirecTV. As Vice-President, Sales, Marketing and Communications at International Launch Services (ILS), she provided leadership in the development of sales and price-to-win strategies that led to the sale of 7 Proton rockets in 7 months, with customers such as Inmarsat, Koreasat, Eutelsat and SES. She also held leadership positions at Satellite Operators Amos by Spacecom and Telesat.
Previously, Ms. Lecomte worked as Vice-President, Global Sales for Dynegy Communications, a wholesale carrier and as Executive Director, Sales Engineering for Teleglobe International where she was responsible for various in-country Business Development projects in Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
Johanne holds a BSEE, from Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal and an MBA/MSEE, from Sherbrooke University in Canada. She is fluent in English, French and Spanish.
