Thales Receives COCESNA Contract for Cocos Island ADS-B

Thales has received a contract from the Corporacion Centroamericana de Servicios de Navegacion Area (COCESNA), the air navigation service provider for six Central American countries, to provide ADS-B surveillance for Cocos Island, a National Park off the shore of Costa Rica. The contract includes a ground station, control and monitoring system, installation support and training. COCESNA has purchased Thales solutions for more than 15 years and has a comprehensive network of Thales navigation technology installed throughout the six member countries. For Cocos Island, the ADS-B equipment will help to ensure surveillance coverage for flights in the region where coverage was not previously  available by traditional radar.

Thales has supplied air traffic management solutions to the aviation community for more than 80 years, and has deployed with more than 680 radars, 1,800 ADS-B and multilateration equipment, and 20 ADS-C ATC centers around the world.
