The PSN strategy significantly impacts the £16.5bn annual spend on ICT and it is expected to save in the region of £500m a year with instant impact from year one of implementation.

Securely joining multiple networks together, using common operating standards, managed by commercial businesses such as Thales,  removes the overheads associated with running separate, independent networks. Standardisation of operation will significantly improve the overall efficiency and performance of public sector organisations through better information sharing, interoperability and improved compatibility.
