15th Thales User Group gets underway

With the hospitality of the Civil Aviation Authority of Mexico, SENEAM, the 15th Thales User Group (TUG) brings together all key clients of the world leader in Air Traffic Management for the very first time in Latin America, for a unique three day event in beautiful Cancun.

The Thales User Group is an association of users, a truly unique event in the civil aviation industry. No other systems provider can bring CEOs, technical and operational directors from more than 20 organisations, together with senior management from Thales. This three day “users association” conference aims to exchange best practice, strategic information on Thales products and share views of future needs, and is instrumental for Thales to better serve customer’s present and future needs.

Users benefit from the event by ensuring, through their input that Thales continues to maintain the service excellence levels expected by the world’s most important Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs)

Delegates will share information on user requirements, discuss Thales’s strategy, product roadmap and customer service experiences in an open forum context. As all previous editions, Thales seeks to share and discuss all best practice and successes as well as points of improvement. The conference will also look at how Thales can better incorporate emerging trends in product roadmaps and innovations in to face up to this constantly changing landscape.

The theme this year is the building a strategy to maximise ATM surveillance and footprint and how emerging trends like Cybersecurity will shape the future of ATM.  To this effect, Sergio Perez Technical General Director of SENEAM will engage delegates in a discussion on the use of enhanced technologies to optimise surveillance. Kornél Szepessy CEO of Hungaro Control, will look at the implementation of strategy, whilst Thales VP of ATM Jean Marc Alias will discuss on how Thales’s strategic footprint has improved over the past 12 months through the acquisitions of the ITS activities of Egis Avia and how this will benefit users.

CANSO, will also be present and will provide delegates with some useful industry insights on the local challenges in south America whilst all delegates will contribute through series of workshops, from how to maximise airport capacity to how to tailor surveillance technologies to specific environments.
