When metro operators are asked about autonomous metros, their first questions are: is it safe, is it proven and how will it benefit my operations? Thales is preparing the urban rail of tomorrow and is currently acquiring enough real data to build and offer a safe solution. The next steps are already under way to qualify new sensors and demonstrate that with less trackside equipment and easier on-board systems installation autonomous metros will operate efficiently and drastically reduce recovery times in the event of an incident.
