Thales presenta sus últimas innovaciones para transporte ferroviario en Negócios nos Trilhos

Thales, world leader in signaling solutions and advanced train control systems, is proud to feature its latest global solutions for the optimization of transport infrastructure during the Negócios nos Trilhos 2013 exhibition.

Among the technologies present at the show is one of the Group’s latest innovations: Green CBTC. Green CBTC is a pioneering and complete solution that makes it possible to achieve energy reductions of up to 15% on networks that use communications-based train control.

Also featured at the show are Thales’s solutions for Light Rail Transit (LRT), including signaling, supervision and communication technologies. These solutions improve capacity, safety and energy consumption levels, whilst optimizing costs for the network they serve. They are currently implemented in Latin America on the Baixada Santista LRT line in Santos, Brazil.

Furthermore, the Thales ETCS main rail solution is present at Negócios nos Trilhos. Developed to promote seamless operation across borders and rail networks through its interoperable and secure functions, Thales’s ETCS signaling system has proven its value in Europe and has consequently been exported around the world, to countries including South Africa, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. This international solution is presently in use in the Latin American region as well, in Mexico.

Thales is also featuring a number of its telecommunication solutions, the most innovative of which is its multimedia platform, APIS (Advanced Passenger Information System). A modular and highly configurable platform, APIS enables texts, images and video to be freely mixed in messages, together with audio. Messages can be triggered by events, scheduled or generated manually. Advertising and infotainment is enabled by the platform, together with voice alarm and evacuation messages.

“We are eager to accompany the development of Latin America’s transport sector. In Brazil specifically we have won four important contracts in less than two years. We strive to help our customers create efficient, cost effective and reliable transport networks to help them manage the growing requirements of urban transport operations, and overall ensure the safety of passengers,” explained Julien Rousselet, Vice President of Thales in Brazil.

Thales has a proven track record of over 75 years in the Transportation sector and an unrivaled experience in implementing highly complex solutions. Thales’s principal mission is to increase the capacity and efficiency of transport systems, which it has accomplished for over 100 customers around the world.
