We are driven by the chance to step up to new engineering challenges and to innovate constantly to create new opportunities. If you want to work on high-tech projects with practical applications, Thales is the company for you.

DEVELOPMENT – Thales offers wide-ranging career options.

We build long-term relationships with our customers and employees by working together on complex projects for the future, often involving multiple industrial sectors. This opens up broad career options and the chance to develop your skills in a wide range of roles. As projects progress and your professional networks expand, you will be able to grow your skills and progress.

MISSION – We help make the world a safer place.

The work we do is important. We deliver solutions and equipment that protect individuals and nations, making our daily lives safer. Some of our products and technologies are totally unique, and almost all of them are highly innovative. Whatever your role at Thales, your job will make a difference!

TEAMWORK – Our success is based on collaboration.

We innovate through teamwork. We could not pursue our large-scale projects without our multidisciplinary approach and the talented people who join forces with each other every day. As you progress within the organisation, you will understand what we mean by collaboration and how teamwork develops through interaction with other colleagues, other nationalities and other technologies for the benefit of our customers.

DIVERSITY – The secret of performing teams

Team performance can be related to three main factors : empathy, the fact that each member of a team has an equal voice at the table and diversity. Faced with the fourth industrial revolution, Thales has a unique opportunity with generations of engineers from all over the world, women and men of all backgrounds, to thrive in a world driven by data, artificial intelligence, robotics and cobotics.

Your career with Thales

Our business success also depends on how much scope our employees have to broaden their experience by moving around between jobs and locations. We offer a broad range of training opportunities to enhance opportunities for job mobility throughout our many businesses and locations.

Underpinning our professional development policy is a full array of training programmes provided by Thales’s in-house university. Clearly defined processes are in place to ensure that each Thales manager meets regularly with individual employees to review their career aspirations and professional development prospects.
We believe that teamwork is a key factor in our growth, so we encourage collaboration in everything we do and constantly look for new ways for employees to interact.
To foster innovation and individual achievement, we expect our employees to be as creative and flexible as possible in the way they organise their work. Every year, Thales awards a prize for the most enterprising new project proposed by an employee.

Thales University

Established over 30 years ago, Thales’s in-house university supports employees at all key stages of their careers:
  • When new team members join the company, Thales University takes part in the Welcome Conventions in Europe, the United States, Australia, China and India.
  • Thales University plays a role throughout the employee's career at Thales, reviewing professional development opportunities and fostering mobility throughout the organisation.
Thales University training programmes are reviewed and updated each year to stay abreast of the changes taking place within the Group and its markets.
The training offering is organised around four key areas: Management and Change, Marketing and Sales, Programme Management and Business Processes and Software, Systems and other Transverse Technologies.

Throughout their careers, employees can talk to specialised advisers and discuss opportunities to move to new posts, change job families, develop their skills and become managers or technical experts. SimLead, Design Center and e-learning are among the methods used to plot fulfilling career paths for Thales employees.
